Description

  • Provide operational support for the operations, maintenance, and refinement of an enterprise cloud environment.
  • Support migration of new and legacy applications and services to cloud computing platforms.
  • Help maintain and optimize client cloud operations across the technical landscape.
  • Work with system administrators and application teams to operate and maintain client applications on the cloud platform.
  • Use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) operational tools, the OCI native portal, and other approved tools to support workloads.
  • Assist with compliance, logging, and monitoring solutions for OCI workloads.
  • Prepare status reporting on OCI environments and operations.
  • Document production operations processes in production operation manuals (POMs).
  • Support cloud continuous improvement, deployment, and migration efforts as needed.
  • Use automation and configuration tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, and ServiceNow in support of OCI workloads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a technical discipline; 10 additional years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience setting up, configuring, and using OCI operational tools.
  • Experience ensuring service-level agreements, performance targets, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Experience in systems administration within Linux (Red Hat) or Windows environments.
  • Experience with one or more VAECOT suite tools, including OCI security, monitoring/logging, networking, or storage services.
  • Some experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP equivalents to OCI cloud service provider tools.
  • Experience with operational tools/services such as Armis, BigFix, CrowdStrike, Centrify, NetSkope, Tenable Nessus, Turbot, Red Hat OpenShift, Ansible, Cloudockit, GitHub, or Jira ServiceDesk is desired.
  • Current OCI certification or a recent passing exam is preferred.
  • Experience creating, testing, and maintaining virtual machine images is preferred.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and how-to guides is preferred.
  • ITIL certification or ITIL knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security regulations, best practices, countermeasures, compliance standards, and current threats is preferred.
  • Previous federal government experience is preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.
