Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in core content areas and grade levels.
  • Deliver effective live lessons via web conference based on student needs and research-based instructional practices.
  • Set up courses in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading.
  • Track and maintain contact with each student.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student-level data regularly to inform instructional adjustments.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Plan and participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips, including required in-person attendance.
  • Travel annually to support face-to-face state testing.
  • Collaborate respectfully and effectively with colleagues and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: two years of teaching experience.
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.
  • Open to residents of West Virginia.
  • Willingness to travel and attend face-to-face events several times per year for state testing and student events.
