Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor.
  • Deliver effective live lessons via web conference based on student needs.
  • Set up courses in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor progress in asynchronous courses and grade assignments daily.
  • Track and maintain regular contact with each student.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student-level data frequently to adjust instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Use culturally responsive, research-based practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
  • Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips and attend in person.
  • Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Willingness to obtain teaching licenses in additional states.
  • Knowledge of state standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: two years of teaching experience.
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Preferred: experience working in a multicultural setting.
  • Open to residents of AL, FL, OH, OR, or TX.
