Description

  • Shape core Platform Infrastructure areas including compute, orchestration, and the data platform, with depth in at least two of these domains.
  • Design and drive the platform architecture and roadmap to support the company’s expanding AI/ML portfolio across services, tenants, and regions.
  • Partner with product and ML teams to make pragmatic trade-offs and advance a platform-first, self-service operating model.
  • Raise operational excellence across SLOs, availability, performance, incident response, change management, and on-call practices.
  • Act as the team’s technical lead by defining quarterly roadmaps, de-risking delivery, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-team initiatives.
  • Champion AI-native software development, including architecture decisions, data gravity, feature stores, model/service interfaces, and evaluation pipelines.
  • Own cost-conscious engineering decisions that balance performance, reliability, and spend through capacity planning, right-sizing, caching, and storage tiering.
  • Establish strong platform product practices such as clear APIs, documentation, SLAs/SLOs, telemetry by default, and paved paths for developers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Senior or Staff engineer building platforms, tools, or infrastructure that improve engineering velocity and reliability.
  • Proven experience building and scaling data-intensive, distributed backend systems in high-growth environments.
  • Strong track record as a change agent who has reshaped infrastructure strategy and shipped impactful self-service platform offerings in startup settings.
  • Depth in at least two of these areas: compute, orchestration, and data platform.
  • Experience with compute technologies such as EC2, autoscaling, container runtimes, networking, and security hardening.
  • Experience with orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes/EKS, controllers/operators, scheduling, policies, and multi-cluster systems.
  • Experience with data platform technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, Spark, Databricks, DBT, Airflow, S3, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, RocksDB, Redis, OpenSearch, and data governance/quality/lineage.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Golang, Terraform/Terragrunt, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, OpenSearch, AWS, and Kubernetes, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code, observability, and SRE fundamentals, including SLOs, error budgets, incident management, postmortems, and capacity planning.
  • Preferred experience building multi-tenant or regulated platforms with isolation boundaries and guardrails.
  • Preferred background in feature stores, offline/online consistency, model serving, and evaluation/feedback loops.
  • Preferred experience leading cross-org migrations to Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, or a unified data platform.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $210,400 to $302,500 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.
