Description

  • Lead discovery sessions with client subject matter experts to understand use cases, pain points, outcomes, and success criteria.
  • Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements with traceability to the original intent.
  • Document requirements and convert them into source-to-target data designs, transformation logic, and business rules.
  • Determine dataset grain and structure based on business context and downstream use.
  • Map dependencies across workstreams, reports, and client use cases before finalizing designs.
  • Apply systems thinking to identify reusable patterns across clients, states, and use cases.
  • Write and execute SQL to analyze data, test assumptions, and prototype solutions.
  • Drive client requirements-gathering and clarification conversations throughout the engagement.
  • Serve as the client-facing point of contact and represent client intent through delivery.
  • Partner with Solution Architects, Product, QA, Account Management, and Program Management to ensure clean handoffs and avoid rework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the US healthcare domain and with healthcare data.
  • Direct payer experience working with or for a US health plan in Medicare, Medicaid, or Commercial.
  • Working knowledge of core payer concepts such as membership/enrollment, provider, claims, and authorizations.
  • Ability to write and execute SQL; exposure to Databricks or Snowflake is desirable.
  • Experience eliciting and authoring business requirements in complex, data-driven environments.
  • Confident client-facing communication and facilitation skills.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and frequent reprioritization across multi-workstream engagements.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking and experience designing for reuse and scale across states, clients, or use cases.
  • Background that blends business analysis with hands-on data work, such as Business Analyst or Business Data Analyst experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with HEDIS and Stars quality reporting, risk adjustment, payment integrity, value-based care analytics, provider data management, or CMS interoperability (CMS-0057) (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of data modeling concepts, including dataset grain and downstream impact (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Medicaid data or PBM platforms (preferred).
