Description

  • Shape the technical vision and delivery direction for the Software Engineering practice with senior technical leaders.
  • Establish reference architectures, engineering standards, and evaluation frameworks for modern application development on Azure.
  • Provide architectural oversight on key engagements and ensure technical decisions align with security, compliance, and maintainability goals.
  • Identify engineering capability gaps and create training, reusable assets, and accelerators to close them.
  • Champion modern engineering approaches, including AI-assisted development, that improve quality, speed, and reliability.
  • Oversee client engagements to ensure delivery quality, business alignment, and strong client outcomes.
  • Coach delivery teams through escalation support, architectural guidance, and strategic clarity on complex or high-risk projects.
  • Help clients improve their engineering and delivery practices so improvements last beyond a single engagement.
  • Develop and coach managers, Principal Architects, and senior engineers through regular feedback and clear expectations.
  • Monitor team health, workload balance, performance, and morale across multiple teams.
  • Oversee staffing, resource alignment, utilization, and succession planning for the practice.
  • Drive practice-wide training, reusable assets, tools, templates, and accelerators to improve consistency and speed.
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and GTM teams to create offerings, estimation playbooks, proposal templates, and pursuit support.
  • Influence multi-million-dollar sales and delivery outcomes across the Software Engineering portfolio.

Requirements

  • 14+ years of experience in application development and/or software engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in application architecture and leading development teams.
  • Expertise with Azure strongly preferred; AWS or GCP is also acceptable.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating production workloads on a major cloud platform.
  • Experience leading hybrid and distributed teams across time zones.
  • Experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Proven success leading large, complex client engagements or programs.
  • Strong background in modern software engineering and architecture practices, including PaaS, serverless, integration patterns, and DevOps.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Experience shaping and implementing practice-wide standards, assets, or offerings.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching managers and senior technical leaders.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in utilization, margin, staffing, and sales pursuits.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to lead system-level architecture and balance value, cost, risk, and speed.
  • Experience leading or influencing multi-team programs, including dependency management and architecture governance.
  • Desire for continuous learning and adoption of new cloud technologies.
  • Cannot sponsor applicants for work visas.
