Description

  • Develop, model, document, and refine platform and instrument architectures.
  • Support architecture implementation with subject matter experts and subsystem engineering teams.
  • Build system models to inform product decisions, including performance tradeoffs and product cost of goods sold.
  • Design and execute system-level tests for new instruments and ensure subsystem and component testing verifies performance and reliability requirements.
  • Work with technical team members to identify and resolve key technical challenges.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across the product development lifecycle with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to define end-user workflows.
  • Conduct routine risk assessments such as FMEAs and help define and execute mitigation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews and project- and platform-level technical execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as computer science, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering; master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, integration, or testing of hardware systems or instruments.
  • Direct experience in a cross-functional role such as systems engineer or project lead.
  • Experience with system modeling for performance and cost tradeoffs, including product cost modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python and comfort building moderate-complexity in silico models and visualizations, such as in Jupyter notebooks.
  • Fluency with modern AI tools, including chat platforms and software development tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent visual, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with standards such as UL 61010-1, UL 60601-1, ISO 9001, or ISO 13485 is preferred.
  • Understanding of design of experiments and statistical analysis of test data is preferred.
  • Experience debugging and extending hardware control software, especially in Linux environments, is preferred.
  • Experience building organizational processes, templates, or standards is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $168,900 to $228,500 USD.
