Description

  • Manage the operational execution of large-scale, longitudinal clinical research studies with academic institutions.
  • Own clinical study timelines, deliverables, operational plans, and sampling schedules.
  • Identify operational risks related to enrollment, study setup, and logistics, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and enforce auditable procedures for sample collection, tracking, chain of custody, and compliant transport to the laboratory.
  • Oversee study budgets, including reimbursement, equipment provisioning, and consumables for partner sites.
  • Ensure study activities comply with IRB protocols, patient consent requirements, and GCLP/CLIA standards where applicable.
  • Manage a portfolio of academic collaborations and strategic partnerships against established milestones and outcomes.
  • Lead and facilitate Joint Steering Committees and cross-functional governance meetings to support decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external academic or industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables, and partner with Legal, Finance, and Business Development on amendments or renewals.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (M.S., PharmD, Ph.D., or M.B.A.) in a life science, clinical, or related field is required.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 4-5 years of experience in Clinical Operations and Alliance/Program Management within diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Direct experience managing research studies involving large numbers of patient samples and complex molecular testing or biomarkers.
  • Deep understanding of clinical study execution, site management, and clinical sample logistics and chain of custody.
  • Direct experience managing high-value strategic alliances and executing collaborative research, development, or commercialization agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resolve complex operational problems, and drive results.
  • Startup or small biotech experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CLIA/CAP standards as they relate to samples sent to a centralized testing laboratory is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for site visits, investigator meetings, and partner engagement.

  • Base salary range of $173,100 to $234,100 USD.
