Description

  • Take ownership of assigned service cases and deliver timely, high-quality service resolution.
  • Provide onsite support to diagnose and repair service issues at customer sites according to contract prioritization.
  • Perform assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Carry out electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, fluidics, and PLC-related repairs.
  • Test instruments and equipment to the field replaceable unit level and resolve complex technical issues using independent judgment.
  • Complete required service documentation in line with company policy, cGMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
  • Load and update software, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and pre-staging activities for new equipment.
  • Monitor parts stock, test equipment, and tool inventory to maintain proper levels and calibration status.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other Field Service Engineers on preventive maintenance, calibration, and service techniques.
  • Contribute to the service knowledge base and recommend process improvements to increase service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Technology, or an equivalent field.
  • Multi-year experience in the service and repair of analytical laboratory instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of customer experience factors and after-sales service.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent time management skills, including scheduling, prioritization, delegation, and managing competing demands.
  • Fluent written and spoken Japanese and English.
  • Ability to travel within the APAC region at least 65% of the time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with microfluidic systems is preferred.
  • Experience working with optical systems is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system is preferred.
