Description

  • Lead the legal support function for the global Sales organization and manage two direct reports.
  • Draft, negotiate, and oversee complex sales-related agreements, including master sales agreements and customer collaborations.
  • Serve as the global escalation point for sales-related legal matters, including disputes and relationships with distributors and service providers.
  • Help operationalize new and expanding product and service offerings, including new ordering and pricing models.
  • Partner with internal teams to build practical processes for tracking and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Investigate and implement tools, including AI-based solutions, to improve team efficiency and scalability.
  • Support high-volume, high-impact commercial initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advise and educate colleagues across the organization on sales-related legal and operational issues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience directly drafting and negotiating commercial terms and agreements, including work with academic, pharma, and biotech life sciences customers globally.
  • In-house experience is required.
  • Ability to serve as a strong business partner and integrate legal advice with business acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience operationalizing legal support for commercial organizations across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative, independent, and solutions-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • JD degree and admission to practice, preferably in California, is preferred.
  • Experience managing and leading other legal or contract professionals is preferred.
  • Experience implementing legal technology tools, such as AI for contract review and management, is preferred.
  • Commercial contracting experience spanning both RUO and diagnostic products and services is preferred.
