Description

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair of electro-mechanical and networked systems at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, electrical, and network-related issues using systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Interpret technical documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals to identify root causes and implement fixes.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and field documentation in the service management system.
  • Configure, test, and validate network connectivity, including LAN/WAN, switches, routers, and communication protocols.
  • Decommission failed units and return them to headquarters for further investigation.
  • Communicate repair status, technical issues, and corrective actions clearly to customers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with remote engineering and support teams to escalate complex issues.
  • Manage assigned parts inventory, tools, and test equipment within the territory.
  • Provide feedback on recurring failures and improvement opportunities while adhering to safety and site requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in field service, technical support, or systems maintenance, or a recent degree with relevant internship, co-op, lab, or capstone project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems such as motors, actuators, sensors, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar.
  • Experience using Linux or Raspberry Pi systems, including navigation, reading logs, and SSH/remote access.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, and basic switch/router configuration.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with standard diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to fault isolation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a field schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel within the assigned territory (up to 75%) and occasionally to HQ or other states (up to 10%).
