Description

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to design, build, and implement scalable, user-friendly applications and libraries.
  • Work with Product Management to break roadmap items into epics and actionable backlog tickets.
  • Provide technical input on team objectives, requirements, risks, and solution recommendations.
  • Design and implement systems and infrastructure based on staff developer proof-of-concepts and team direction.
  • Apply a security-first mindset and ensure solutions align with the organization’s security strategy.
  • Review code and ensure pull requests satisfy ticket acceptance criteria.
  • Use quality metrics to identify testing gaps and recommend improvements to testing frameworks and strategy.
  • Manage third-party system integrations to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Prioritize technical debt and bugs based on incident management outcomes and team needs.
  • Coach and mentor developers while helping expand their technical skills.
  • Debug application issues systematically and write unit tests and higher-level tests to support quality and stability.
  • Ensure technical standards for accessibility, performance, maintainability, operability, observability, and functional correctness are met.

Requirements

  • University degree, college diploma in a recognized technical/vocational/academic program, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience building rich, complex, and scalable APIs, including third-party API integrations.
  • 5+ years of experience building front-end web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • 2+ years of experience designing scalable and distributed systems.
  • Experience mentoring other developers.
  • Extensive full-stack experience with React, Redux, Node, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DORA metrics and experience sharing DevOps performance measurements with the team.
  • Experience architecting and enhancing large software systems.
  • Experience with JavaScript tooling such as WebPack, Babel, and Storybook.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
  • Experience building or working with microservices and micro-frontends.
  • Preferred: experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Nightwatch, Selenium, or BrowserStack.
  • Preferred: experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi and AWS.
  • Preferred: experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Salary range of $150,000 to $170,000 annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus and additional performance-based incentives.
