Description

  • Lead feature implementation from proposal and specification through development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, especially finance and operations, to understand billing and invoicing needs and identify inefficiencies.
  • Propose and lead technical solutions that streamline billing operations and improve process efficiency.
  • Review code changes and mentor junior engineers on code quality and maintainability.
  • Guide efforts to improve codebase health and reduce technical debt through regular housekeeping work.
  • Provide technical leadership, feedback, and guidance during team planning and discussion.
  • Participate in product decision-making and own projects end to end.
  • Help scale strategic billing systems to support future growth.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems and a full-stack mindset.
  • Hands-on experience with Go is preferred; experience with Python, Java, or Node.js is also relevant.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience developing solutions in the cloud and/or using cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to engage non-technical stakeholders and translate business challenges into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Proven experience leading technical projects from conception to deployment.
  • Experience with cloud billing for AWS, GCP, and Azure is a bonus.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery is a bonus.
