Description

  • Define and manage test plans, test cases, execution schedules, and release readiness for projects.
  • Ensure coverage across functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Validate deliverables against requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Enforce QA standards, methodologies, and best practices across the team.
  • Track, log, and drive resolution of defects efficiently.
  • Monitor quality metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and release readiness.
  • Act as the primary liaison between QA, development, product, and operations teams.
  • Provide reporting on test progress, risks, and quality status to stakeholders.
  • Drive adoption of automation frameworks and balance manual and automated testing strategies.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend-focused automated test frameworks and suites.
  • Build CI/CD test pipelines and optimize YAML configurations for stable delivery automation.
  • Collaborate with backend developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Review backend code to understand logic, identify risk areas, and design stronger tests.
  • Improve observability and reporting across automated tests, including dashboards, logs, alerts, and coverage insights.
  • Support debugging of complex production issues and root-cause analysis.
  • Identify QA process gaps and propose workflow improvements.
  • Lead initiatives that improve engineering workflows, automation reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in QA and Agile methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience as a QA Lead.
  • Expertise in backend/API automation using Jest, Postman, and modern REST testing practices.
  • Strong experience with Playwright, Jest, Karate, Cucumber, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of monolith architectures and microservices-based systems.
  • Hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines and working with YAML-based configuration.
  • Strong understanding of mocking, stubbing, service virtualization, and contract testing such as Pact.
  • Experience building test frameworks from the ground up or significantly enhancing existing ones.
  • Comfortable using AI tools as accelerators while applying critical thinking to validate output.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and QA teams.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and able to own automation direction with minimal supervision.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation with strong hands-on technical leadership is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as Locust, JMeter, or k6 is preferred.
  • Experience working with GitLab or GitHub Actions CI pipelines is preferred.
  • Exposure to security testing fundamentals is preferred.
  • Experience driving automation architecture during system decomposition from monolith to microservices is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand backend code, especially PHP and/or Golang, is preferred.
