Description

  • Design and refine UI components, patterns, and foundational design elements within Xometry’s design system.
  • Translate product and platform needs into scalable, reusable system solutions.
  • Partner with Design Systems Engineering to ensure components are feasible, well-documented, and production-ready.
  • Support product designers in using the design system effectively and consistently.
  • Create and maintain documentation, usage guidelines, and examples in Figma and related tools.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from the Design Systems Lead.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement within the design system.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience, including some work with or contribution to a design system.
  • Strong visual, interaction, and UI design skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience designing component-based systems in Figma.
  • Ability to think in terms of patterns, scalability, and reuse.
  • Comfort collaborating closely with engineers and incorporating technical constraints.
  • Clear communication skills and openness to feedback.
  • A strong execution mindset and pride in craft.
  • Comfort working within defined system principles and direction.
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek clarity when requirements are unclear.
  • Ability to manage multiple design tasks and priorities with guidance from a Lead.
  • Interest in consistency, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
  • Experience partnering with front-end engineers on component libraries (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with ANT Design (nice to have).
  • Experience supporting adoption of a design system across multiple product teams (nice to have).
