Description

  • Lead internal project teams, consulting engineers, and contractors through MEP engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical engineering support to ensure construction and maintenance comply with standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Verify maintenance completion and coordinate repair, build, and contingency efforts for HVAC, electrical, cranes, facility systems, security systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Manage the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for aerospace, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes and oversee execution of site capital projects to meet technical, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Work with the AHJ to obtain building permits and ensure certificates and final inspections are completed before project closeout.
  • Communicate building and maintenance activities and schedules to personnel, subcontractors, and material suppliers to support deadlines.
  • Ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and own readiness procedures for environmental threats.
  • Write, negotiate, and manage scope across multiple MEP engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with the design or build of MEP building systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering design software.
  • Direct field experience managing aerospace, heavy industrial, or large commercial construction projects day to day (preferred).
  • Experience in conceptual design and budgeting (preferred).
  • Experience in contract management for large capital projects (preferred).
  • Experience managing the engineering, procurement, and construction process for aerospace or heavy industrial projects (preferred).
  • Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of HVAC operation and design principles, including refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and air handling equipment (preferred).
  • Experience with plumbing design and operation, including domestic water, wastewater, venting, and storm systems (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, building lighting, construction specifications, and facility grounding (preferred).
  • Experience with critical power infrastructure, including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches (preferred).
  • Ability to create and implement process or design solutions with minimal impact to business operations (preferred).
  • Ability to assess issues quickly and support technicians with troubleshooting and repair (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment with possible extended hours and tight deadlines (preferred).
  • Acute attention to detail and awareness of how systems interact to avoid problems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code, ASHRAE, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code (preferred).
