Description

  • Provide technical guidance on health systems strengthening approaches aligned with national health strategies and donor requirements.
  • Support alignment of faith-based and community-supported facilities with Ministry of Health policies, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee facility and district assessments and develop action plans to address quality, supervision, human resources, and governance gaps.
  • Lead technical assistance to strengthen supervision systems, including joint supervision, performance reviews, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Support supply chain management improvements in forecasting, ordering, stock management, and coordination with national supply systems.
  • Facilitate sub-partner relationships related to program design, technical implementation, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the Malawi country project and the global consortium management team.
  • Build the capacity of implementing partners and staff through training, mentoring, coaching, and practical tool development.
  • Document lessons learned and use routine data and assessment findings to support learning, adaptation, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise staff, including work tracking, performance check-ins, approvals, documentation, and Christian team leadership practices.

Requirements

  • Mature and personal Christian faith.
  • Commitment to World Relief’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to affirm or acknowledge World Relief’s Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and related faith documents.
  • 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Strong understanding of health systems strengthening principles and practice.
  • Ability to analyze system gaps and translate findings into practical improvement actions.
  • Strong facilitation, mentoring, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across government, faith-based, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and routine reporting tools.
  • Preferred: agreement with World Relief’s values.
  • Preferred: ability to contribute a diverse perspective on the FCI team.
  • Preferred: ability to work in complex environments with multiple tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines.
  • Preferred: ability to build consensus and work with diverse groups of people.
  • Preferred: experience building capacity among peers for knowledge-sharing products and activities.
  • Preferred: ability to travel 3 times a year.
