Description

  • Manage day-to-day administration of group benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life, and disability insurance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for multi-state leaves of absence and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and state leave laws.
  • Respond to employee questions about benefit plans, claim escalations, and leave requests with clear and empathetic guidance.
  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process through strategy collaboration, employee communications, and benefit system configuration changes.
  • Own monthly reconciliation of group benefit invoices, identify discrepancies, and work with vendors to resolve billing issues.
  • Ensure benefit and leave programs comply with federal and state regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
  • Assist with required filings and testing, including 5500s and non-discrimination testing.
  • Audit HRIS data, benefit deductions, and leave tracking to maintain accuracy across internal systems and third-party vendors.
  • Partner with payroll to audit payroll cycles before finalization and provide backup payroll processing support.
  • Contribute to HR special projects such as system migrations, total rewards statements, and wellness program implementations.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of dedicated HR experience focused on benefits administration and leave of absence management.
  • Proven experience managing benefits and leaves across multiple states.
  • Strong understanding of state-specific disability and paid family leave regulations.
  • Prior experience with payroll processing or payroll auditing is highly preferred, or a strong aptitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Comfort with backend system configuration, especially for Open Enrollment.
  • Experience with Dayforce is a plus.
  • Ability to translate complex benefits and compliance information into warm, easy-to-understand language for employees.
  • Ability to contribute broadly to a small team and switch between analytical and employee-facing work.
