Description

  • Design and build core language and runtime features across the Expression Language, Data Mapper, and Decision Engine.
  • Own and extend the Rust core and embed it inside Ruby and Go services via FFI bindings.
  • Help expand the Decision Engine from static rules to support formulas.
  • Contribute to WASM sandboxing so each component runs safely isolated from the others.
  • Partner closely with Product and the AI team on component requirements and exposure.
  • Support phased implementation planning and cross-team technical execution.
  • Facilitate architectural decision-making and create technical roadmaps.
  • Lead complex cross-team initiatives with rollout, deployment, and cost considerations.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on Rust experience at a systems/backend level.
  • Working competence in Go and production-level ability.
  • Experience embedding Rust as a library or native extension inside another language runtime, such as Ruby or Go.
  • Strong algorithms and data structures fundamentals.
  • Comfort operating in a deadline-driven, cross-team environment without a fixed process methodology.
  • Experience with AI-assisted workflows for system analysis and finding inconsistencies or corner cases.
  • Experience with systems handling millions of requests or events per day.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record with feature flags, gradual rollouts, and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Compiler engineering experience is a strong plus.
  • WASM/sandboxing experience with Wasmtime, Wasmer, WASI, or similar is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data-format standards and RFCs such as JSON and Unicode is preferred.
  • Awareness of project-cycle practices such as Scrum or waterfall and strong testing discipline is preferred.
  • Open source contributions, conference speaking, or technical writing are preferred.
  • Mentorship mindset and cost analysis capabilities.
