Description

  • Design and build core language and runtime features across the Expression Language, Data Mapper, and Decision Engine.
  • Own and extend the Rust core and embed it as a native component inside Ruby and Go services via FFI bindings.
  • Help expand the Decision Engine from static rules to support formulas.
  • Contribute to WASM sandboxing so each component runs safely isolated from the others.
  • Partner closely with Product and the AI team on required capabilities and interfaces.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on Rust experience at a systems or backend level.
  • Working competence in Go and real production ability in the language.
  • Proven experience embedding Rust as a library or native extension inside another language runtime such as Ruby or Go.
  • Strong algorithms and data structures fundamentals, including sorting, trees, and data processing.
  • Comfort working without a fixed process in a deadline-driven, cross-team environment.
  • Experience with AI-assisted workflows for system analysis and finding inconsistencies or corner cases.
  • Experience building systems that handle millions of requests or events per day.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience planning phased implementations and leading complex cross-team projects.
  • Proven track record with feature flags, gradual rollouts, and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Ability to facilitate architectural decisions and create technical roadmaps.
  • Compiler engineering experience is a strong plus.
  • WASM or sandboxing experience with Wasmtime, Wasmer, WASI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data-format standards and RFCs such as JSON and Unicode.
  • Awareness of Scrum, waterfall, and testing discipline.
  • Open source contributions, conference speaking, or technical writing are preferred.
