Description

  • Educate clients on insurance benefits, coverage options, and financial responsibilities for services rendered.
  • Meet with uninsured, underinsured, and commercially insured clients to review payment options.
  • Assist clients with Medicaid applications, insurance programs, financial assistance, and other available resources.
  • Determine eligibility for grants, funding sources, and sliding fee scale programs when appropriate.
  • Coordinate referrals, advance beneficiary notices (ABNs), and other required financial documentation.
  • Provide compassionate customer service while answering financial questions and addressing concerns.
  • Establish and monitor client payment plans tailored to individual financial situations.
  • Collect self-pay balances, follow up on outstanding accounts, and support monthly collection efforts for newly discharged clients.
  • Post payments accurately and reconcile daily cash and payment transactions.
  • Review aging reports, conduct outreach on overdue balances, and support collections review meetings, including external agency assignments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, patient financial services, medical billing, insurance verification, or revenue cycle management.
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits, Medicaid eligibility, patient collections, and payment plan administration.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR), billing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly.
  • Must have relevant work experience.
  • Must be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding.
  • Must be available for video meetings with camera on when needed.
  • Reliable laptop or desktop computer, high-speed internet with minimum 25 Mbps, noise-canceling headset, webcam, and a quiet professional workspace.
