Description

  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient reminders.
  • Coordinate completion of new patient forms, consent forms, payment requirements, and insurance verification before appointments.
  • Maintain and organize patient records, documentation, reports, spreadsheets, and workflow trackers.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare professionals, and internal staff.
  • Support pre-operative and post-operative patient coordination, including preparation steps and follow-up tasks.
  • Ensure required medical clearances, health documentation, and surgical instructions are completed before surgery.
  • Assist the treatment coordinator with administrative tasks, documentation preparation, and EOB processing.
  • Maintain accurate patient information in Open Dental and other practice management workflows.
  • Ensure all patient communication and records comply with HIPAA standards.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Experience reviewing patient medical histories and medication lists.
  • Basic familiarity with medications commonly used in surgical or dental settings.
  • Familiarity with medical and dental terminology, especially oral surgery terminology.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex, multi-step patient processes.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
  • Relevant experience as a medical receptionist, medical scribe, patient care coordinator, dental receptionist, or healthcare administrative assistant is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in medical, dental, or oral surgery environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Open Dental is preferred.
  • Experience with Delta Dental insurance integration and EOB processing is preferred.
  • Experience with the Zoom phone system is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Must be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding.
  • Must be available for video meetings with camera on when needed.
  • Must have a reliable laptop or desktop computer, high-speed internet of at least 10 Mbps, a noise-canceling headset, and a webcam.
  • Must have a quiet, professional workspace.
