Description

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits, and process pre-authorizations.
  • Ensure insurance documentation is accurate and organized.
  • Explain insurance coverage, treatment estimates, and out-of-pocket costs to patients.
  • Support billing-related processes and maintain organized records.
  • Assist with administrative coordination to support smooth daily operations.
  • Provide front desk and receptionist support when needed.
  • Manage inbound and outbound patient calls, voicemail follow-ups, and email communication professionally.
  • Support patient scheduling, appointment coordination, and backup scheduling.
  • Send X-ray results and other patient communications.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and patient-centered experience in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Previous dental industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with insurance verification and billing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and out-of-pocket cost calculations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Open Dental practice management system is preferred, or the ability to learn it quickly.
  • Strong phone communication skills and patient-facing customer service experience are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple insurance-related inquiries efficiently.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must speak and write English very clearly.
  • Must have relevant work experience.
  • Must be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding.
  • Must be available for video meetings with camera on when needed.
  • Reliable laptop or desktop computer is required.
  • High-speed internet with a minimum 10 Mbps connection is required.
  • Noise-canceling headset and webcam are required.
  • Must have a quiet, professional workspace.
  • Prior virtual assistant experience is preferred but not required.
