Description

  • Translate and review content from English into Romanian while preserving the original meaning and ensuring readability for the target audience.
  • Work on a mix of informational, legal, marketing, product, and support content.
  • Take ownership of incoming work for the account and contribute to the success of the program.
  • Perform translation, copy editing, and review tasks using the Smartling CAT tool.
  • Apply character restrictions and other client instructions accurately.
  • Communicate the rationale behind transcreation choices when needed.
  • Collaborate with a multicultural, international team across distributed locations.
  • Maintain quality and consistency across technical UI and creative content types.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience translating and reviewing content in the relevant subject matter.
  • Native fluency in Romanian.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in marketing, product, and informational content translation.
  • Experience with translation and terminology tools.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, including character restrictions.
  • Ability to explain transcreation decisions clearly.
  • Technical (UI, customer support) and creative translation knowledge, including synopses and episodic titles.
  • Must be based in the US or Canada, or otherwise able to work US hours.
  • Freelance availability for an estimated 15 hours per week.
