Description

  • Perform LQA reviews in line with quality guidelines and production timelines.
  • Handle arbitration cases and drive linguistic consensus for optimal results.
  • Update glossaries and translation memories in the Smartling environment following quality team guidelines.
  • Review and implement client feedback, including feedback from non-linguists.
  • Process linguistic feedback from QA testing and apply changes as needed.
  • Provide linguistic and cultural consultation to clients when requested.
  • Liaise with language specialists, translation teams, and client stakeholders through emails and meetings.
  • Maintain reference materials, training documentation, and meeting notes.
  • Answer linguistic queries according to the established query management process.
  • Monitor language quality performance through LQA reports, address issues promptly, and flag quality risks.
  • Work on internal and external RCAs and QIPs as instructed by the quality team.
  • Assess and suggest asset improvements based on user impact, time, and cost.
  • Prioritize and track quality management tasks based on urgency, impact, and client needs.

Requirements

  • Native Pakistani national with in-depth understanding of Urdu-Pakistan and its cultural nuances.
  • Excellent command of English (US), both verbal and written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Language Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in translation, localization, or linguistic services.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Language Lead or Senior Linguist.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Urdu-Pakistan.
  • Familiarity with translation and localization tools such as CAT tools and TMS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of linguistic quality assurance processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in the localization/translation industry for a global music service provider is preferred.
  • Certification in translation or localization tools is an advantage.
  • Must be flexible to work on any type of content, including sensitive content, music, video, and various genres/domains.
