Description

  • Configure and maintain platform environments across TMS platforms such as XTM, Phrase, memoQ, and Trados.
  • Manage MT engine connections, workflows, AIPE/AIQE parameters, and provider-level settings such as glossaries, dictionaries, and model selection.
  • Act as the primary diagnostics layer between production teams and AI/ML Engineering for routine platform and MT issues.
  • Investigate MT quality problems, identify root causes, and provide clear reproduction steps and context when escalating issues.
  • Manage end-to-end MT operations, including data preparation, TM analysis, engine training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Maintain relationships with MT providers and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Support pre-sales activities as an MT/AI subject matter expert.
  • Build ROI models and prepare QBR insights on edit distance trends, MT savings, and cost usage.
  • Advise clients on MT strategy, including engine selection and content suitability.
  • Design and build tools, scripts, and workflows to eliminate manual processes and improve scalability.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major TMS such as XTM, Phrase, memoQ, or Trados.
  • Strong understanding of XLIFF/MXLIFF formats and translation pipelines.
  • Experience integrating MT providers such as Google AutoML, Microsoft Custom Translator, DeepL, or Systran.
  • Knowledge of MT customization, including training data, model types, and quality drivers.
  • Familiarity with MT evaluation metrics such as BLEU, TER, and edit distance, plus human evaluation frameworks.
  • Understanding of the MT lifecycle from preprocessing through monitoring.
  • Ability to navigate provider platforms and understand their capabilities, limitations, and pricing models.
  • Experience using Python or AI-assisted coding tools to build data-processing scripts.
  • Strong data manipulation skills, such as using Pandas or equivalent AI-assisted workflows.
  • Basic SQL proficiency for writing, generating, and validating queries.
  • Experience building lightweight tools or internal apps such as dashboards or file processors.
  • API integration experience, including reading documentation, generating code, testing, and debugging.
  • Comfort working in terminal or command-line environments.
  • Ability to read and validate code, including AI-generated scripts.
  • Strong understanding of data workflows from input to transformation to output.
  • Excel or Google Sheets experience, including pivot tables.
  • Power BI or similar reporting tools experience.
  • Familiarity with structured data formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, and TMX.
  • Advanced Python skills are preferred.
  • LLM and prompt engineering experience are preferred.
  • Experience with annotation tools such as Label Studio is preferred.
  • Cloud platform experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS is preferred.
  • Experience with Jira or similar project management tools is preferred.
  • Localization industry knowledge, including translation workflows, post-editing, quality frameworks, and LSP operations, is preferred.
