Description

  • Review, localize, fact check, translate, and adapt football-related content for the target market.
  • Follow writing style guides and localization guidelines when editing content.
  • Conduct market-specific research on local content, product, terminology trends, and localization best practices.
  • Provide feedback on written content.
  • Work on quality control, translation, copy editing, and machine translation post-editing tasks.
  • Adapt voice and style to resonate with the intended audience.

Requirements

  • BS/BA and/or 2+ years of work experience in the linguistic field, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing.
  • Extensive sports knowledge, mainly football.
  • Experience in translation and localization of multimedia content, preferably including machine translation and evaluation.
  • Native-level fluency in French (Canada).
  • Excellent grammar, writing, proofreading, and editing skills in the native language.
  • Strong practical knowledge of computers, mobile devices, word processors, and spreadsheets.
  • Ownership of a licensed version of MS Office apps.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Published work on platforms like ESPN, The Athletic, or FourFourTwo, or similar (preferred).
  • Experience working with sports media platforms, live score apps, or sports streaming services (preferred).
  • Ability to adapt voice and style to Gen Z, football fan culture, and pop culture audiences (preferred).
