Description

  • Identify and address AI knowledge gaps across retail merchandising, category management, buying, planning, and operations.
  • Design realistic retail tasks and business scenarios involving practical decision-making.
  • Develop accurate solutions based on established retail practices and professional experience.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses using structured rubrics for accuracy, reasoning, judgment, relevance, and completeness.
  • Provide clear written feedback on response strengths, weaknesses, and improvement areas.
  • Develop and refine retail-specific evaluation guidelines and scoring frameworks.
  • Collaborate with research, engineering, and subject-matter expert teams to maintain dataset quality and consistency.
  • Translate practical retail knowledge and decision-making processes into structured guidance for AI improvement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional retail experience in merchandising, category management, buying, planning, operations, or related functions.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating LLM or AI-generated outputs using rubrics or structured scoring criteria is mandatory.
  • Experience with a large-scale retail, consumer, e-commerce, or omnichannel organization is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated career progression and increasing responsibility, such as Category Manager to Senior Manager to Director of Merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of retail strategy, merchandising processes, category performance, inventory, customer behavior, and operations.
  • Ability to assess complex business scenarios and determine whether recommendations are commercially practical.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and professional judgment skills.
  • High attention to detail and consistency when applying evaluation criteria.
  • Experience with AI evaluation, training data, structured grading, or quality assurance is preferred.
  • Availability for approximately 35 hours per week on weekdays.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $60–$80 per hour.
  • Full-time engagement of approximately 35 hours per week.
  • Fully remote work arrangement.
