Description

  • Lead and scale a high-performing team of Category Managers and set the long-term vision for Waymo’s external workforce and services ecosystem.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Safety, and Corporate functions to design global outsourcing footprints for critical capabilities.
  • Drive strategy across a $100M+ portfolio, shifting vendor usage from transactional support toward strategic capability building.
  • Develop strategic supplier alliances with leaders in BPO and engineering services to expand innovation and access to talent.
  • Lead category strategy and transformation roadmaps for operations to improve resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Architect complex commercial agreements for hardware engineering services and technical outsourcing, including outcome-based models.
  • Own the governance framework for third-party risk in services, including IP protection and data security compliance.
  • Guide workforce architecture decisions for mapping, labeling, engineering, hardware, and corporate support functions.
  • Support enterprise scaling by aligning internal needs with external market capabilities and partner ecosystems.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of strategic procurement or supply chain experience.
  • At least 5 years leading high-performing teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to influence Director-level and above stakeholders and drive organizational change.
  • Deep experience structuring global BPO and engineering services deals, including lift-and-shift transitions, captive center setups, or managed service implementations.
  • Experience managing a diverse category portfolio across technical and non-technical categories such as engineering, hardware, marketing, and consulting.
  • Expert-level knowledge of complex Master Services Agreements, including IP ownership, liability caps, and global labor compliance.
  • Ability to think 3-5 years ahead and design a supply base to support long-term growth.
  • MBA or advanced degree in procurement, supply chain, or business is preferred.
  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, or big tech is preferred.
  • Experience managing Category Managers or leading global teams across multiple time zones is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $190,000 to $241,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program.
  • Eligibility for Waymo’s equity incentive plan.
  • Access to Waymo’s generous company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
  • Remote work may be available depending on location, subject to recruiter guidance.
