Description

  • Drive sustainability programs aligned with international environmental standards and policy goals across clean energy, fleet, hardware, and transit integration areas.
  • Manage environmental compliance, mitigation actions, and measurement of sustainability impacts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to integrate sustainability into their work.
  • Work with NGOs, government agencies, and industry partners on sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage international compliance, reporting, and verification requirements.
  • Communicate Waymo’s sustainability efforts through presentations, reports, communications, marketing materials, comment letters, and policy briefs.
  • Support GHG inventory and mitigation models for international expansion and audit-ready environmental claims.

Requirements

  • Strategic experience implementing environmental compliance and sustainability programs across a complex value chain in a highly regulated industry.
  • Ability to synthesize complex environmental standards into actionable compliance roadmaps for international transportation ecosystems and large-scale fleet operations.
  • Experience developing and executing sustainability strategies with clear targets, initiatives, and progress tracking.
  • Strong project management skills to lead sustainability initiatives from conception to completion.
  • Technical acumen to draft requirements and frameworks for measuring environmental performance and net benefits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong background in environmental management, compliance, and risk mitigation in a highly regulated industry (preferred).
  • Broad experience developing and implementing clean energy, sustainability, and lifecycle management programs (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to build, implement, document, and optimize reporting workflows for complex operational processes (preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 20-25% of the time.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of £88,000 to £92,500 GBP.
