Description

  • Implement and scale the core economic engine for Waymo’s ride-hailing commercial services.
  • Develop infrastructure code to automatically train and deploy optimization and prediction ML models.
  • Support real-time decision-making for pricing, matching, and positioning.
  • Build backend platform services that support multiple product use cases and services.
  • Own and host core ML models used across the Marketplace team.
  • Automate ML model lifecycle workflows, including feature engineering, training, and inference services.
  • Contribute to next-generation marketplace simulation systems for high-fidelity virtual experiments.
  • Streamline marketplace experimentation workflows into a unified platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience programming in backend languages such as Java or C++.
  • Experience building backend platforms that support multiple product use cases or services.
  • Prior machine learning engineering experience in Python using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • Experience building and deploying ML or optimization models in production preferred.
  • Experience developing ML data pipelines and ML workflow automation on mature ML infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience working at a ride-hailing or marketplace company preferred.
  • Coursework background in machine learning and optimization preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $175,000 to $215,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program.
  • Eligibility for Waymo’s equity incentive plan.
