Description

  • Implement and scale the core economic engine for Waymo’s ride-hailing commercial services.
  • Build novel experimentation, simulation, and analysis infrastructure for Marketplace product data science.
  • Own specialized business platforms that support Marketplace ML and Optimization products.
  • Automate feature engineering, training workflows, and inference services across the model lifecycle.
  • Help host and maintain core ML models used throughout the Marketplace.
  • Develop next-generation Marketplace simulation systems for high-fidelity virtual experiments.
  • Streamline experimentation practices and support a unified, user-friendly experimentation platform.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience programming in backend languages such as Java or C++.
  • Experience building backend platforms that support multiple product use cases or services.
  • Experience working with product data science teams.
  • Experience developing code to automate ML or Optimization product launches.
  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • Experience building and deploying high-fidelity simulation systems running ML or Optimization production code preferred.
  • Experience developing and configuring experimentation services for concurrent A/B or Switchback experiments preferred.
  • Experience working at a ride-hailing or marketplace company preferred.
  • Coursework background in experiment design or simulation systems preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $175,000 to $215,000 USD.
