Description

  • Build and manage data sets, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and front-end products that simplify data access for business users and internal teams.
  • Own features through the full development lifecycle, including design, creation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop maintainable, high-quality, and reliable solutions that can scale with business growth.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and engineering leaders in a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Work within a high-performing engineering team supporting WMG’s technology initiatives.
  • Help reimagine and implement technology for the music industry.
  • Support dimensional data delivery for concepts such as Artists, Participants, Albums, and Tracks.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in backend or full-stack development.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS or another large cloud computing environment.
  • Strong distributed systems knowledge, including how to build for speed, scalability, and measurable performance.
  • Strong operational excellence practices, including testing, monitoring, paging, and incident management.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with Python, Databricks, AWS, Postgres, TypeScript, React, and Snowflake is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • High sense of ownership and ability to deliver in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong debugging skills and ability to diagnose complex issues.
  • Drive to grow, learn, and master software development.
  • Willingness to work remotely as part of a Full-Time engineering role in Ontario or British Columbia.

Benefits

  • Base salary of CAD $90,000 to $135,000 per year.
  • Eligible for a performance-based annual bonus.
