Description

  • Write clean, maintainable backend code in Java or Python and frontend code in Angular or React.
  • Upgrade application frameworks to maintain current security, support, and performance standards.
  • Debug and resolve system errors found through automated or manual testing.
  • Monitor production systems and improve observability to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  • Lead root cause analyses for outages and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct performance and scalability testing, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
  • Partner with business and operations users to troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues.
  • Execute manual operational workflows and automate them for efficiency.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to high-priority production incidents.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines and contribute to infrastructure-as-code efforts, knowledge bases, runbooks, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development, ideally with Java or Python for backend work or Angular/React for frontend work.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL and writing SQL queries.
  • Effective communication skills for bridging technical and non-technical discussions.
  • Comfort collaborating in distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Preferred experience working with enterprise systems and modernizing them.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code to manage cloud resources, ideally in AWS.
  • Preferred ability to diagnose and resolve issues across desktop, network, and web layers.
  • Preferred experience with on-call work, incident management, and meeting SLA commitments.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role that combines software engineering, SRE, and operational support.
  • Open to candidates ranging from new graduates to senior application engineers.

Benefits

  • Base salary of CAD $63,000 to $130,000 per year.
  • Eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus.
