Description

  • Design, build, and operate scalable event-driven data pipelines for payments and platform data.
  • Maintain and evolve the real-time data platform from MVP pipelines to production-grade architecture.
  • Model and process transactional and ledger-style data for financial reconciliation, merchant reporting, wallet fee breakdowns, and settlement tracking.
  • Build and maintain monitoring and alerting for data accuracy, freshness, observability, and reliability.
  • Own data quality across the pipeline from ingestion through transformation to downstream consumption.
  • Develop backend services that expose data to internal platforms, APIs, and downstream systems.
  • Support financial reconciliation, merchant reporting, operational monitoring, and product analytics use cases.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, and the Data Engineering Lead on architecture decisions and new data use cases.
  • Own deployment, monitoring, and reliability for the systems you build.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and operational playbooks for the data platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data infrastructure building and operating production data systems.
  • Strong experience with data pipelines and production data platforms across ingestion, transformation, modeling, and serving.
  • Expertise in SQL and large-scale data processing.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or similar backend languages.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools such as Airflow, dbt, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Athena.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and real-time or near real-time data processing.
  • Experience designing systems with data quality, monitoring, and reliability as first-class concerns.
  • Ability to operate independently and own production systems end-to-end in a remote, async team.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools or agents, with strong discipline in reviewing and productionizing generated code.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure, including reconciliation, settlement, ledger reporting, or merchant data (preferred).
  • Experience working with high-volume event data at scale (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ledger-style or transactional data models (preferred).
  • Exposure to Web3, blockchain, or crypto ecosystems, including on-chain data, wallet analytics, or token transaction flows (preferred).
  • Rust experience or willingness to learn (preferred).
  • Experience building data platforms in fast-growing startups and shaping architecture from early stages (preferred).
