Description

  • Advise candidates one-on-one on quant recruiting strategy, including firm selection, application timing, resume positioning, and interview preparation.
  • Help place candidates into quant roles across hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, HFTs, and asset managers.
  • Hold weekly virtual office hours and group coaching sessions for WSQ members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hiring managers and recruiting contacts at quant firms.
  • Track candidate pipelines and placement outcomes to improve the recruiting process and identify gaps.
  • Collaborate with the WSQ team to create recruiting-focused content, including firm guides, interview prep materials, and career resources.
  • Stay current on the quant hiring landscape, including hiring activity, compensation trends, and recruiting cycle shifts.

Requirements

  • Direct experience in quant recruiting, either as a recruiter, specialized headhunter, or someone who has navigated the quant recruiting process successfully.
  • A strong network across quantitative finance, including contacts at hedge funds, prop shops, HFTs, and/or multi-manager platforms.
  • Understanding of quant role distinctions, including quant researcher, quant trader, and quant developer positions.
  • Comfort advising candidates from undergraduates and new graduates to experienced professionals making a career switch into quant.
  • Strong organization, responsiveness, and motivation to help people land roles.
  • Clear and direct communication style.
  • Ability to work with candidates across a range of experience levels.
  • Preferred: experience working with or recruiting for quant firms, trading firms, or hedge funds.
