Description

  • Serve as chief project engineer or senior technical lead for large, multi-phase, or multi-contract defense and aerospace programs.
  • Define system architecture, integration, and verification strategies aligned with customer and mission objectives.
  • Oversee engineering execution across multiple Integrated Product Teams and major subcontractors, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule compliance.
  • Lead technical baseline definition, configuration management, system integration planning, and major design and integration reviews.
  • Act as the primary engineering interface for executive management and Department of Defense customers.
  • Manage Statements of Work, subcontractor deliverables, and supplier design inputs.
  • Support proposal development, cost estimation, and new business capture.
  • Develop risk and opportunity management strategies and improve engineering processes, knowledge management, and best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline; equivalent experience may substitute.
  • 10 years of project engineering experience.
  • Expertise in system integration, verification planning, and risk-based engineering approaches.
  • Experience leading technical execution across multidisciplinary teams, programs, and major subcontractors.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills for executive and customer audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent engineering management and project planning tools.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering professionals.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate U.S. security clearance.
  • Controllable solid rocket propulsion systems leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience managing small, highly technical teams preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Must satisfy U.S. Government export control requirements, including ITAR/EAR eligibility and U.S. Person requirements.
