Description

  • Define and lead the merchandising strategy across staging, direct-to-consumer retail, and hospitality/contract channels.
  • Build and oversee the buying organization, including category-specific buyers and their product development responsibilities.
  • Develop a long-term product roadmap that aligns brand vision, customer demand, financial goals, and operational scalability.
  • Set category strategies, assortment architecture, pricing, and lifecycle planning across home product categories.
  • Direct global sourcing and manufacturing while building strategic vendor partnerships and scalable production capabilities.
  • Steer the evolution of the product assortment into a distinctive proprietary collection that strengthens brand positioning.
  • Serve as a steward of the Vesta aesthetic and ensure consistency across product categories, collections, and customer touchpoints.
  • Partner with sales, operations, marketing, inventory planning, logistics, and creative leaders to align product vision with execution and commercial outcomes.
  • Lead and develop the VP of Product Development and build high-performing teams across merchandising, product development, and product design.
  • Improve product utilization, inventory productivity, gross margins, furniture attachment rates, and overall lifecycle ROI.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in premium or luxury home furnishings, interiors, retail, hospitality, or vertically integrated consumer brands.
  • Significant executive-level experience overseeing merchandising, product development, sourcing, and category management functions.
  • Strong expertise in global manufacturing and sourcing.
  • Proven track record building and scaling proprietary product programs in high-growth environments.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, inventory strategy, margin optimization, and operational infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and scalable organizational processes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Highly refined aesthetic sensibility paired with strong commercial and operational acumen.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate strategically while remaining deeply execution-oriented.
  • Experience with luxury home furnishings, design-driven retail, hospitality or contract furniture, multi-channel owned inventory businesses, rapid-growth companies, or founder-led environments is strongly preferred.
