Description

  • Lead and facilitate intensive, in-person financial assessment sessions with clients and their key team members.
  • Own the assessment process end-to-end from new client onboarding through the six-week assessment and into recurring accounting support.
  • Develop financial assessment reports and actionable recommendations with Vessel Advisors’ CFOs, Controllers, and Advisory Partners.
  • Advise clients on financial decisions using upside/downside scenarios, strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage multiple fractional client engagements concurrently while maintaining scope, timeline, quality, and engagement economics.
  • Direct internal contractors and coordinate with internal and external staff as needed.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, owners, C-level leaders, and key stakeholders through professional presence and clear communication.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls, policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Prepare and reconcile budgets, depreciation and liability schedules, payroll and benefit liabilities, and other financial reports.
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and financial reporting for clients.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Controller.
  • 5+ years of experience as an advisor or management consultant in an in-person capacity.
  • Ability to lead all-day in-person meetings and navigate complex questions, issues, and team dynamics.
  • Expertise with cloud-based software and strong technical fluency.
  • Deep project management skills with experience handling complex projects and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong ability to redirect conversations appropriately.
  • Experience working across multiple industries; construction experience is a plus.
  • Must be located in the PST or MST time zones.
  • Ability to travel up to three weeks per month for onsite assessments.
  • Must be available full-time for 45-55 hours per week, including travel time.
  • Must work remotely during business hours and maintain an organized remote workstation, controlled audio environment, and business casual attire for virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Daily access to a strong internet connection with at least 100+ Mbps upload and 30+ Mbps download.
  • Must be able to attend the annual Vessel Retreat in Southern California.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $105,000 to $130,000.
  • Bonus opportunity of up to 10% based on company and individual performance.
  • 10 days of PTO.
  • 10 paid holidays.
  • Health benefit option with a monthly stipend.
