Description

  • Design and ship the internal agent platform, including templates, tool libraries, retrieval systems, orchestration patterns, evaluation pipelines, and no-code abstractions.
  • Evaluate commercial agent platforms and frameworks, deciding when to integrate existing solutions and when to build custom infrastructure.
  • Run the platform on Venice’s own inference API and models to identify product gaps, performance needs, and edge cases.
  • Architect privacy and security controls that keep company data within Venice’s infrastructure and prevent cross-department leakage.
  • Create usable abstractions, documentation, defaults, and UX that enable non-engineers to build and manage agents.
  • Partner with marketing, support, operations, finance, and other teams to understand workflows and develop relevant platform capabilities.
  • Measure platform impact and optimize agent quality, latency, cost, and adoption using production traces and evaluations.
  • Educate teams through workshops, internal documentation, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
  • Initially operate as a solo individual contributor reporting to the co-founder, with potential to build and lead a team as the platform grows.

Requirements

  • Deep experience building and operating production software systems at scale.
  • Fluency in at least two of Rust, TypeScript, Go, and Python; Venice prefers these languages in that order.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, data pipelines, and reliable operations.
  • Production experience with LLM APIs, agent orchestration, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt design, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience taking agent systems from prototype to production and addressing hallucinations, latency, cost, context limits, and edge cases.
  • Platform engineering experience focused on reusable abstractions, developer experience, and self-service infrastructure.
  • Experience with data privacy architecture, access controls, data classification, and confidentiality tradeoffs.
  • Ability to build products for non-technical users, communicate clearly, teach, and drive adoption.
  • Comfort making architecture decisions in ambiguous, rapidly evolving technical domains.
  • Experience evaluating build-versus-buy decisions for agent orchestration frameworks and custom tooling.
  • Ability to move quickly, prototype, ship, measure results, and iterate in production.
