Description

  • Explore large transactional and behavioral datasets to identify patterns associated with fraud.
  • Build and validate classification models for imbalanced fraud versus non-fraud datasets.
  • Develop feature engineering approaches that improve model performance and generalization while reducing overfitting.
  • Apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to strengthen fraud detection and automate decision-making.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to integrate models into decision workflows.
  • Monitor model performance in production and iterate based on user behavior changes, fraud trends, and strategy updates.
  • Stay current on advanced machine learning techniques for digital fraud detection in transactional environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, with strong programming skills.
  • 1–2 years of experience in Data Science or Data/Business Analytics, with machine learning knowledge.
  • More than 2 years of experience using Python and SQL.
  • Experience with fraud detection, anomaly detection, or modeling on imbalanced datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to extract actionable insights from data.
  • Experience in fintech, insurance, or banking is valued but not required.
  • Knowledge of AWS services is a plus.
  • Understanding of consumer behavior, alternative data sources, and digital lending platforms is desirable.
