Description

  • Port legacy Express API modules to a new Hono API with full integration test coverage.
  • Decompose large React pages and convert legacy .jsx code to strict-mode .tsx.
  • Improve frontend performance through bundle splitting, dynamic imports, and mobile-first reliability work.
  • Harden data integrity by introducing real state machines and typed enums.
  • Build new customer-facing features behind feature flags and canary rollouts.
  • Investigate, reproduce, and fix customer-reported bugs using traces, logs, and database queries.
  • Add regression tests for fixes and new functionality.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that follows established backend and frontend patterns.
  • Conduct thoughtful peer code reviews and respond constructively to reviews from others.
  • Use automated testing, automated code review, and canary deploys as the primary safety net for changes.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years building software in a team environment, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • At least 4 years of professional TypeScript experience, including strict mode.
  • Production experience with at least one modern Node/Bun backend framework such as Hono, Fastify, Express, or Koa.
  • Production experience with a typed ORM such as Prisma, Drizzle, or TypeORM.
  • Production experience writing complex SQL queries against PostgreSQL.
  • Production experience with a background job system such as BullMQ, Sidekiq, Celery, or SQS-backed workers.
  • Production experience with React; Next.js experience is a strong plus.
  • Production experience writing integration tests against a real database.
  • Comfort working in a codebase under active rewrite and following canonical reference modules exactly.
  • Comfort working remotely in an autonomous environment with overlap during US time zones.
  • Must be located in South or Central America; US-based and Europe-based applicants are not accepted.
  • AI-forward mindset is required, including real production use of agents like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
  • Ability to decompose tasks, review agent output critically, and verify behavior before committing code.
  • Experience shipping production code substantially authored by an agent is required, with a concrete example you can discuss.
