Description

Build and evolve the data platform foundations that support safe and repeatable dbt development.
Establish and maintain dbt development standards, guardrails, testing practices, documentation, and code review processes.
Improve developer experience for data workflows through CI/CD, automated checks, and deployment patterns.
Partner with Analytics and Finance to define and deliver trusted metrics and dashboards in Looker.
Build and maintain analytics-ready datasets for self-serve reporting and experimentation.
Develop and optimize BigQuery data models for analytics and product use cases.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and dbt.
Ensure data quality, reliability, observability, performance, and cost efficiency across datasets and pipelines.
Integrate data workflows with backend services and APIs.
Participate in infrastructure decisions related to data ingestion and platform evolution.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with deep data platform experience.
Strong programming skills in Python.
Strong SQL skills and experience with analytical data modeling.
Hands-on experience with BigQuery or a similar cloud data warehouse, with willingness to ramp.
Production experience with dbt (dbt Labs), including building models directly.
Experience building or improving data workflow infrastructure, including reliability, observability, CI/CD, permissions, environments, and deployment patterns.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, version control, and code reviews.
Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Composer.
Experience with Looker, including LookML, semantic modeling, and dashboards, is preferred.
Experience collaborating with Product to translate business needs into data solutions is preferred.
Experience with streaming or event-based architectures is preferred.
Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails is preferred.
