Description

  • Develop case themes and litigation strategies for complex civil defense matters
  • Independently manage cases through discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, trial preparation, and trial
  • Handle court appearances, briefs, depositions, and trials
  • Communicate routinely with clients and insurance carriers
  • Collaborate with attorneys across experience levels on case strategy and execution
  • Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective firm clients
  • Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced attorneys
  • Manage deadlines, experts, and all facets of case progression

Requirements

  • Active New Jersey Bar license
  • JD from an ABA-approved law school
  • At least 5 years of substantive New Jersey insurance defense experience
  • 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Ability to independently manage full case responsibilities, including discovery and trial
  • Knowledge of New Jersey local practice and procedure
  • Experience with complex, high-exposure civil defense matters, including professional liability, medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, or wrongful death
  • Experience with time-management systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong independent judgment, communication skills, professionalism, and collaborative approach

Benefits

  • Base salary of $150,000-$200,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Annual billable-hours bonus starting at $10,000, with $7,500 for each additional tier
