Description

  • Handle habitability claims, landlord-tenant disputes, premises-related matters, general negligence, personal injury, and other civil litigation.
  • Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, discovery, trial preparation, and trials.
  • Develop persuasive case themes and litigation strategies.
  • Communicate routinely with clients and cultivate client relationships.
  • Collaborate with attorneys at all experience levels, support staff, and the remote team on case strategy.
  • Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.
  • Take ownership of cases while proactively identifying next steps and keeping leadership informed.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition work, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to manage all facets of case handling, discovery, and trial independently.
  • Experience in landlord-tenant litigation, habitability, real estate litigation, premises liability, general liability, personal injury, or related civil litigation.
  • Insurance defense experience and familiarity with carrier relationships and billing requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with time-management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Professional demeanor, strong judgment, responsiveness, and a proactive approach to case management.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $160,000-$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Annual billable-hours bonus starting at $10,000, with $7,500 for each additional tier.
