Description

  • Develop case strategies and manage litigation matters from discovery through trial.
  • Handle court appearances, depositions, motion practice, mediations, trial preparation, and trials independently.
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with clients.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal staff, and trial support teams across the firm.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys.
  • Drive high-quality legal work and proactively advance case priorities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license.
  • 1–8 years of litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery through trial.
  • Insurance defense experience preferred; substantive civil, plaintiff, criminal, construction, or professional-liability litigation backgrounds are also valued.
  • Experience with litigation timekeeping and billing systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, initiative, follow-through, receptiveness to feedback, and professional demeanor.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $115,000–$160,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Annual billable-hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional $7,500 tier increments.

  • 401(k) with 100% match on the first 3% contributed and 50% match on the following 4–5%.
  • Student loan repayment assistance or 529 college savings contributions of $100–$200 per month after one year for full-time attorneys.

  • Remote, hybrid, or onsite work options, with a permanent office available for attorneys working in the Novato office at least twice weekly.
  • Firm-provided CLE programs, paid bar renewal fees, in-house training, leadership development, and a defined partnership path.
