Description

  • Lead the architecture and long-term technical roadmap for legacy-to-microservices modernization.
  • Use AI coding assistants and LLM-based workflows to accelerate development, testing, and prototyping.
  • Drive technical excellence and make architectural decisions across multiple teams.
  • Partner with product managers to turn regulatory requirements and customer needs into developer-friendly APIs and workflows.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers and foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning.
  • Identify, mitigate, and remediate technical risks such as scalability bottlenecks, security issues, and production incidents.
  • Communicate technical strategy through design documents, RFCs, and presentations to engineering and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Twilio partners to align on platform direction and delivery.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience designing and developing highly available, high-scale, secure, mission-critical cloud-native distributed systems.
  • Expert proficiency in Java or Go.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, and Kafka.
  • Strong experience with cloud-native infrastructure, microservices patterns, and designing 99.999% resilient systems.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools to accelerate software delivery, including LLMs for brainstorming, debugging, and code synthesis.
  • Track record of building and maintaining high-volume public-facing APIs with strong developer experience.
  • Experience with high-throughput data processing and storage technologies such as SQL/NoSQL, Redis, Kafka, or Spark.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD paradigms.
  • Proven ability to influence technical strategy across teams and organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Telecom domain experience, including telephony protocols, local number porting, or global regulatory compliance frameworks, is preferred.
  • Experience building internal platforms that help other developer teams move faster is preferred.
  • Experience building or integrating AI agents into developer platforms or automated operations workflows is preferred.

  • Competitive pay with location-based salary ranges from $171,120 to $251,600.
