Description

  • Build and own product capabilities for Stytch’s agentic identity platform on Twilio.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable distributed services with strong security, reliability, and performance.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to define direction and deliver high-impact roadmap features.
  • Translate customer needs into technical plans and platform improvements.
  • Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align architecture and integrate platform capabilities.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Own the full lifecycle of new services from design and prototyping through production deployment and operational readiness.
  • Mentor other engineers and help raise the team’s technical bar.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to engineers and executive stakeholders.
  • Stay current on identity, authentication, and emerging security threats to keep the platform innovative and secure.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building and operating highly scalable distributed systems with a focus on security, reliability, and performance.
  • Experience working with agents and/or LLMs.
  • Strong hands-on coding ability and willingness to solve complex problems in depth.
  • Experience designing and implementing resilient, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience making high-impact technical decisions and leading technical initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive technical excellence while keeping customer needs central.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, including monitoring, observability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving a team’s technical capabilities.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience building 0-to-1 products or working in a startup environment (preferred).
  • Deep experience with identity and access management, modern authentication protocols, and security architecture (preferred).
  • Knowledge of OAuth, SAML, OIDC, WebAuthn, passkeys, and zero-trust security principles (preferred).
  • Familiarity with modern verification techniques such as biometrics, document verification, and risk-based authentication (preferred).
  • Background in developing APIs and SDKs with a strong focus on developer experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Go, Kubernetes, and DynamoDB (preferred).
  • Remote role; not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, or surrounding areas.
  • May require occasional travel for project or team in-person meetings.
