Description

Design, implement, and optimize highly scalable distributed applications for Twilio’s Identity and Security products.
Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, and API teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Identity and Security systems.
Drive software engineering best practices through code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
Develop SDKs and libraries for external developers to use.
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical roadmaps.
Prioritize observability, reliability, security, and performance across deliverables.
Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.

Requirements

4+ years of professional Android experience building production mobile applications and customer-facing SDKs.
Fluent in Kotlin and experienced with Java.
Knowledge of the Android development ecosystem, frameworks, and third-party libraries.
Experience in the full mobile development lifecycle.
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including monitoring, observability, and maintainable systems.
Experience working with AWS cloud-based infrastructure.
Experience with automated build and test pipelines and test-driven development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience with software development lifecycle and processes.
Preferred: Experience developing for other developers.
Preferred: CI/CD and test automation experience.
Preferred: iOS development experience.
Preferred: Experience working on a geographically distributed team.
Preferred: Familiarity with SMS/voice verification, biometrics, and TOTP.
