Description

  • Translate ambiguous business questions into precise SQL queries against the Snowflake warehouse.
  • Own recurring financial reporting, reconciliation, and operational analytics, with a focus on improving efficiency over time.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, build forecasting models, and support decision-making through churn analysis, customer segmentation, CLV, A/B testing, and related methods.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize Looker dashboards, Explores, and LookML definitions for governed self-service analytics.
  • Govern the semantic layer, including metrics, dimensions, and business logic, that supports trusted reporting and AI-enabled analytics.
  • Serve as the primary analytical partner to the Finance team and own financial reporting, reconciliation, and forecasting workflows.
  • Support SOX audits and ITAC testing by ensuring financial data is accurate, auditable, and well-documented.
  • Monitor and improve data quality across analytical pipelines, especially for finance-critical datasets.
  • Gather stakeholder requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineers to resolve upstream issues.
  • Train business users to use analytics tools confidently and effectively.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or BI Analyst role in a modern cloud data stack environment.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, joins, and performance-aware querying in Snowflake or a comparable cloud warehouse.
  • Hands-on experience with Looker, including dashboard development, Explores, LookML, governed metrics, and self-service analytics.
  • Ability to read, maintain, test, and document dbt models, including sources, tests, macros, lineage, and development workflows.
  • Solid understanding of finance concepts such as GL, journal entries, trial balance, financial statements, reconciliations, and period-close processes.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional modeling, including fact and dimension tables, star schemas, and slowly changing dimensions.
  • Applied experience with regression, classification, A/B testing, segmentation, and forecasting using SQL, Python, or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis to both Finance leadership and technical peers.
  • Comfort with Git/GitHub, including branching, pull requests, and collaborative development in a terminal environment.
  • Experience with LLMs or AI-assisted analytics tools such as Claude, Gemini, GPT, or Looker Conversational Analytics, with exposure to Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, or AISQL capabilities.
  • Understanding of MCP integration patterns is a plus.
  • Experience in telecom, connectivity, or subscription environments such as MVNOs or ISPs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with churn, ARPU, MRR, billing, and provisioning metrics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect is preferred.
  • Looker, Snowflake, dbt, or cloud platform certifications are preferred.
